MEMEX® is a privacy-first mobile application that helps guardians stay in control of their loved ones’ notifications using AI. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how we protect your privacy. By using MEMEX, you agree to these practices.

What We Collect

MEMEX collects only the notification data you explicitly authorize, and only from the apps you choose.

If and only if you enable notification access, the following information may be collected:

  • Notification timestamp

  • Sender (app name, contact, or service)

  • Content (text only)

  • Group or channel, if applicable

This data is gathered directly from your device and is not accessed without your consent.

We may also collect:

  • Crash logs and performance data (anonymized, opt-in only)

  • Messages you send to our support team

We do not collect background data, browsing history, or microphone/audio inputs.
We do not sell or monetize user data.
We do not use third-party analytics libraries or tracking.

How We Use Your Data

MEMEX only uses the notification data you’ve explicitly enabled. This data provides the context needed to generate accurate, personalized insights in real time — without you having to sift through every message or alert yourself.

  • Limited and Purpose-Driven: We only use the data you choose to share, and solely for the purpose of delivering MEMEX’s features. Your data is never sold, used for advertising, or used to build marketing profiles.

  • Temporary Processing: When MEMEX checks for signals of concern, the app briefly gathers the relevant notifications you’ve approved. This information is packaged into a temporary file on your device, securely transmitted to MEMEX’s servers, and then passed to OpenAI’s API for AI processing.

  • Automatic Deletion: Once a result is delivered, the temporary file is immediately deleted. MEMEX does not persistently store your notification content.

  • Diagnostics (Optional): If you opt in, anonymized crash logs and diagnostic data may be collected to improve stability and support.

All transfers are encrypted using end-to-end HTTPS. We are also working toward full at-rest encryption for temporary files, even though no notification content is currently stored beyond processing.

AI Output Disclaimer

MEMEX uses OpenAI’s ChatGPT to generate suggested responses. These are AI-generated and may be incorrect or inappropriate. MEMEX is not a substitute for professional advice.

Storage and Security

By default, all notification storage remains locally on your device. At any moment, you can choose the applications to read the notifications from, the unselected ones are completely ignored. MEMEX temporarily uploads the notifications to generate a personalized response.​

That data is:

  • Encrypted in transit via HTTPS

  • Deleted immediately after processing

  • Never stored persistently on NBX servers

 

We do not retain raw notifications, summaries, or user queries. Only minimal, anonymous session data is held temporarily to support functionality

Your Rights

​Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, update, or delete your data. To exercise your rights, email privacy@memexintelligence.com. 

Children

​MEMEX is not intended for users under 13. If you believe a child has used MEMEX and submitted personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated in-app. Continued use of MEMEX means you accept the latest version.
